Ms. New Beauty is going through a period of self-learning and development. Over the past six months or so, she's grown and learned a lot of things about who she is, what she likes, and what drives her. She's still learning, but there are a few things that Ms. New Beauty knows definitively about herself: she is not and will never be interested in any activity that could be described as "outdoorsy"; she cannot live in any metropolitan area that does not have a Neiman Marcus or comparable substitute; and she cannot carry a large handbag without testing its limits to see just how much it can really hold. This final fact has become particularly true during the past few weeks when MNB can never get to her phone before the caller hangs up because there are so many other things rolling around at the bottom of her bag.
Well, today I finally decided to take some inventory and see what really was in my purse. I'm not having any back or shoulder pain yet, but I just knew that I had to be carrying my whole life around with my in this bag. The long list is below, and includes quite a few of my favorite products.
- My Sony VAIO laptop
- A textbook
- Oscar de la Renta Scarf
- A showercap
- Highlighters - the marker kind, not makeup
- Moto KRZR cell phone
- Purple Gucci sunglasses
- Dove Intensive Nourishing Lotion
- L'oreal HIP Brilliant Shine Lipgloss in Coy - a deeper berry color, I'm not in love with it, but I like it just fine
- Supersmile Quikee - no need to rinse, just smooth a drop onto your teeth with your tongue for an instantly whiter and sweeter smelling smile
- Sephora Cuticle Care Pen - read Lazy Is As Lazy Does for an MNB review
- Sephora Nail Whitening Pencil - reviewed in same post as the Cuticle Care Pen
- An empty Advil tube - I keep meaning to refill it, so I won't throw it away
- A probiotic straw
- Marc Jacobs pink leather wallet
- iPod
- Propoline Chamomile Lip Balm with SPF 15 - full review in Kiss Me
- Smith's Rosebud Salve - no explanation needed, but just in case you want one, I reviewed it in Kiss Me too
- Movie ticket stub - if you like a good suspense thriller, go see Deja Vu starring Denzel Washington and Paula Patton
- Soap sample - somebody gave this to me for free on Newbury Street, but I can't remember the store or the name of the scent, so I'm too afraid to actually use for fear that I'll never find it again
- Purell hand sanitizer - a must for cold & flu season
- BECCA Fine Pressed Powder in Coriander - I'm such a BECCA fan, I love her so, that line really deserves its own MNB post
- Revlon Superlustrous Lipgloss with SPF 15 in Gloss Rose - a truly universally flattering natural pink shade that gives your lips just a hint of color and shine
- Revlon Superlustrous Lipgloss with SPF 15 in Shine City - just a basic clear, shiny gloss
- Sephora Round-a-Pout in Beach Bronze - such an ingenious idea, four flattering lip gloss shades in a tiny little ball
- Smashbox Compact Anti-Shine - now you know I carry this with me everywhere I go
Clean out your purse, save your shoulders and back, and don't forget that Ms. New Beauty told you!
